As of March 17, 2020:
Valley View Family, After meeting with medical personnel, our church staff and key leadership, we are canceling all in-person services through the month of March. At that time, we will reevaluate the directives from our health and government officials and update our response accordingly.
In lieu of in-person services, we will offer the following worship and discipleship opportunities:
- We will have an online worship service each Sunday at 10:30 am. The service will then be available on demand on Facebook and this website.
- I will be doing regular devotionals during the week following our Foundations New Testament readings. I believe the reading of God’s Word together has united us as the Body of Christ, and we need that unity and connection now more than ever. These brief devotionals will be available on all of our social media platforms and this website. I invite you to watch and share. If you need a copy of the Foundations New Testament, please click here.
- All updates will be presented on this site and all social media platforms as well.
I want to encourage each of us to focus on ministry that we can still perform with all of the social limitations we are facing. I’m afraid over the past several years, the church has become focused on the church gathered. Now is the time for us to operate as the church scattered and minister where we can.
The church office is open. If you need help or see a ministry opportunity, please call the church office at 205-752-0977. We especially want to help our elderly and shut-ins with needs that they may have. We have volunteers ready to help.
One specific ministry that we are asking you to help with is a food drive for the under-privileged in our area. You can find the list of items needed below and drop them off in the box outside of the church office.
I am also aware that some are worried about losing income for lack of work during these times. We may not be able to help every case, but we certainly want to use the resources we do have to continue ministry. To that end, I want you to be aware that those that are able can continue to give online here, through the mail, or at the church office.
One final plea. I want to covenant with each of you to join me in prayer at 9:00 am and 9:00 pm daily. Wherever you are, just pause and know that many of us are praying together for God to be glorified. I will give some specific prayer needs on my devotional videos. I love you all. We are going to be better than ever through this storm.
