About Royal Family Kids (RFK)
Royal Family Kids is designed for foster children, ages 6-12, who've been abused and neglected. During RFK, special bonds are created between the volunteers and children, and the children learn to trust and know they are loved.
Royal Family Kids Camp takes place during the summer and gives children a week of fun in a safe, loving and caring environment, led by a great group of Christian men, women and teens who'll love them unconditionally.
Royal Family Kids Club takes place monthly on the Valley View campus. Club is a one-on-one mentoring program that builds sustained relationships with hurting children. Kids that participate in RFK Camp in June have the opportunity to participate in RFK Club.
Volunteering with RFK
As a volunteer, you'll provide safety, fun, positive memories and a Christian role model for abused and neglected children. You'll use the skills you have to listen, to express genuine empathy and to love unconditionally. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer in RFK, please contact Sharon Callahan, Director of RFK & TRAC, by email or phone (205-752-0977).
About Teen Reach Adventure Camp (TRAC)
Teen Reach Adventure Camp is a program of Hope Unlimited that reaches out to abused, abandoned and neglected teenagers, ages 12-16. It offers a fun-filled, biblically-based weekend where volunteers pour the love of Christ into their lives. TRAC has served more than 100 children in the past four years.
Camp is a three-day single-gender camp for girls and boys who've graduated RFK and/or in the foster care program.
TRAC-LIFE is a one-on-one mentoring program where adults make a year-long commitment to a teenager who attended TRAC Camp. The mentoring program gives these youths hope and helps them understand that life and their future can be different.
If you enjoy working with teenagers that need encouragement, love, compassion and positive attention, WE NEED YOU!
